Erica Fulton to run in the New York City marathon, Nov. 5th.
Her goal is to raise money and awareness of WindReach Recreational Village.

Marathon Update

Your support encouraged Erica to reach her goal and supported the efforts of WindReach here in Bermuda, thank you.

"The marathon could not have gone better. The weather was perfect, no wind, clear skies and in the low 50s and the crowds really are as amazing as everyone says they are. I managed to break 4 hours – just! – with a time of 3hrs 59mins and 0 seconds so I was very pleased as I was thinking I would get more around 4hrs 15 mins. It just seemed to be one of those days when everything went well."
Erica Fulton

Erica started running more seriously in Sept. 2005. She developed her skills by running the International Race weekend a 10km race in January and then the Bermuda Day half marathon on May 24th.

Feeling inspired by how much fun the run was on May 24th Erica thought that she would like to challenge herself further.

She entered the NYC marathon through her local running club, MAAC, who assisted her in her application process.

Erica thought that this new, personal goal would be the perfect opportunity to also raise money for WindReach.

Erica has volunteered with WindReach in the past with the Kids on the Block puppeteering program and she also has helped out with the feeding of the animals when home from university during the holidays. She is therefore very familiar with the set up of the Village and knows first hand what a wonderful job that everyone does there.

"I feel that WindReach provides such an important service to the Bermudian community in so many ways that I would love to be able to contribute something towards it, as well as to hopefully remind people of what an amazing facility we have here in Bermuda." Erica Fulton
